Brief History

Picture
Here you can see a picture of what the church
looked like before the beautiful stained glass
window which you can see in the picture on left
  was installed in about 1970.

Churchill House is a Grade II  listed building and is architecturally considered to be one of Rhyl's finest buildings. The church built in the 'Gothic' style  was started in 1885 and  finished in 1887.
The church conducted services for over  100 years until December 1997 when it was  officially deconsecrated in the  presence of the Archbishop of Wales.
The church served the local community very well and conducted weddings, christenings and funerals  during most of this period.

We  have owned the Church since 2004 and have spent much time and effort restoring the building so that it will hopefully last for many more generations of people to enjoy. The roof was completely rebuilt over an 18month period around 2006 and won an award for the craftmanship of the work. We have tried to design the building internally so as to blend in with the newly constructed rooms in the house together with the original features of the church, so as to create a welcoming comfortable home.
During the reconstruction of the roof we discovered that the church bell was dangerously close to falling down and decided to take it down for safety reasons.
We promised to resite it safely within the building, which we have done and it is now possible  after many years to hear how the bell sounds again.

Let us tell you a little about the history of our Alaskan Malamute 'Max'. He was abandoned in 2011 in Ireland
and brought to the UK by an animal rescue centre based in Bishop's Stortford. He was there about six weeks before he joined our family. He is a friendly dog and enjoys meeting people.
